Web search API for advanced agent web investigation and RAG source discovery. Returns ranked Google results with title, URL, snippet, domain, and an optional recency filter. Successful results are cached, and provider rate limits trigger a short circuit breaker plus a clearly marked recent public-news fallback. Use it as an advanced web investigation API, research retrieval layer, source discovery tool, or RAG ingestion feed. For fetched page text or cited answers, use answer-web or scrape-to-json.
